Jagatram Niwas’ owners, Bavinder and Mohinder Singh, live on site with their families. Their original family home (dating back over 200 years) is three doors away.

We have several spacious guest rooms. Some have double beds, attached Western-style bathrooms with hot shower, and use of kitchen with fridge, toaster, kettle gas burner and water filter. Others have twin single beds with use of Western- and Indian-style shared bathrooms.

All of our rooms have warm bedding, plenty of storage space and large shared terraces. Sheets and towels are included, and we offer a paid laundry service.

Wi-fi service is available in all of our rooms, although the whole Dharamsala area does sometimes experience power cuts. Mobile phone reception in the area is generally good, with 4G availability, though not at broadband speeds. Torches are a must for after-dark walks home.

Due to the nature of the terrain leading up to Heini, we are unable to provide access for wheelchair users at present. However, upon discussion, via phone or e-mail, we will endeavour to cater for any other special needs you may have.

Guests should note that the drive up to our parking area/drop-off point is followed by a ten-minute walk to the guesthouse, and that the walk down to Bhagsu from the guesthouse is steep in places.

The guesthouse has several huge terraces which are furnished for outdoor dining. Breakfast can be provided (banana porridge, eggs and toast or parantha) at an additional charge, and a traditional Himachali thali can be provided for dinner, also at an additional charge. Lunch is not provided unless by special arrangement. We can also cater to special diets upon request.
