Jagatram Niwas was founded in 2003 by the brothers Bavinder and Mohinder Singh, together with their wives Rekha and Santosh Devi. In 2007, they were joined by Matthew Singh Toor, who is helping to develop and market the guesthouse

Getting Here

Delhi and Amritsar to Jagatram Niwas

Internal Flights: At least one domestic flight is scheduled between Delhi and Dharamsala per day. To check operating airlines and time, you can use portals such as www.makemytrip.com or www.yatra.com..

Taxis: We are happy to arrange taxis from Delhi (around twelve hours) and Amritsar (around six hours). We can also arrange overnight hotel accommodation in Amritsar if you wish to break up your journey and visit the Golden Temple.

Buses and Trains: Overnight buses run from Majnu Ka Tilla and the Interstate Bus Terminal in Delhi, to Dharamsala and McLeodganj. Bookings can be made with travel agents or online at portals such as www.redbus.in

Trains run from Delhi to Pathankot Cantt (around nine hours), from where you can take a taxi (three hours) or local bus (three to four hours) to Dharamsala. Bookings from abroad can be made at www.makemytrip.comalthough you will also need to register with www.indianrail.gov.in

Arrival at Jagatram Niwas

We are happy to book taxis to transfer guests from lower Dharamsala or Mcleodganj up to the drop-off point in village Heini, which lies at the end of a rough jeep road. From there, we will guide you on the five to ten-minute walk through the village to Jagatram Niwas.
